Reita Marks was raised on a farm near Fort Ashby in Mineral County. Her professional experiences include teaching high school and working as a guidance counselor in Somerville, N.J. She retired after serving as a state 4-H program specialist with the WVU Extension Service for nearly 30 years. Reita has a bachelor’s degree from Shepherd College, a master’s degree from Miami University of Ohio, and a license in counseling from Rutgers University. She earned an Ed.D. degree in clinical studies (counseling) from WVU in 1972. Reita operates a small craft business, specializing in paper quilling and wood carvings. Her hobbies include biking, camping, “plain Jane” cooking, writing meditations, and gardening (both veggies and flowers).
